I went to the bus terminal and wanted to buy a ticket for my wife for Wednesdays but they didn't have any, so I had to buy a ticket for Thursday. I couldn't go with my wife;I bought a ticket for myself for Friday. My bus left at 10:00 PM and arrived at 5:00 am on Saturday morning. It was very cold, so I took a taxi very fast. We were there until Monday but we couldn't see any places because it was very cold. The temperature there was -10 degrees, thus, we had to stay home and only went to see my wifeٌ s grandmother on Saturday night and I saw my wifeٌ s uncle on Sunday. we came back to Tehran on Monday night.

My friends and I usually go to different mountains like Tochal,Shekarab,Dehtangeh etc on Fridays.Therefore, every spring I try to go to Golestankooh for both mountain climbing and perfect nature.I would like to invite you and the class to join me for this nice vacation this Ordibehesht.

Dear Mr. Khaksar I will explain about norouz vacation when i traveled to hong kong with my family. I was there for 9 days.When i arrived there , the weather was mostly cloudy but i could use of out door swimming pool. There is a modern country with high building & big shopping centers.Also there is a branch of Disneyland like Farnce & America. In during of stay , we visited of Madame Tussuds Musuem where you can see figure of famous persons in the world .The another intrest place was Peak .There was higher place in hong kong that you can see all the country in below.There was very fantastic. The another place that we visited of it was Ocean Park . We decided going to the north of Iran before the New Year. We wanted to go to a place that called Somesara, it's near Foman. My family went there four days earlier than me and my brother. My brother and I wanted to go there by bus on twenty eighth of Esfand but we couldn't buy any ticket because all the tickets were reserved so we went to found another vehicle to go there. Finally we found a taxi and the taxi driver accepted to take us so we went. It takes three hours and forty five minutes to receive there. We receive there about 9:00 PM and the weather was rainy. After ten minutes my father came and takes us home. Next morning was a sunny day and the weather was so pleasant. I went to Masoule with my Cousin, aunt's daughter and my uncle's son. Masoule is a beautiful place I ever seen. Two days later we went to a historic place that call Ghaleerood Khan, there was some strongholds. We had to mountain climbing to see the strongholds. The strongholds were really terrific and enormous. I really like to go there again. My last vacation was one of my best memories.I traveled to Noshahr with my family.we went to my father's friend's house which was so nice and beautiful. the yard had a pretty garden with a lot of various flowers and trees. He had prepared everything for us.fortunatly the weather was good and made it possible for us to enjoy the nature.We stayed there until the 13th of Farvardin,then we went back to Tehran. At the second day of the nowrooz my cousins came to our house and then we decided to go to Noshahr in the north part of Iran. In some parts of the road it was snowing and when we received to Noshahr, we hired a villa for three nights. In days it was breezy and fresh, but at the nights it was very cold. My cousins and I took a walk in the seaside everyday; we went boating on the sea (Caspian Sea). Then we had a short trip to a beautiful place near Noshahr, which is called Namakabrood. There are two telecabin stations in there; those telecabins carried people to the top of a green mountain, the climate there was salubrious. I spent rest of the vacation at home, watched some movies and serials, studied a chapter of an English book, and slept well. It was a very delightful and nice vacation.
I study in Tehran but I’m from Gorgan and my family live in Gorgan. A week before the Norouz vacation I went to Gorgan, During that week I saw streets and shops was very busy and people was shopping for new year. During that time I helped my family by cleaning and shopping to prepare for the new year. In our country it is common that family and friend in Norouz holidays keep in touch more than other time. We kept in touch with our kinfolk and friends and it was very absorbing for me. I have an uncle who live in Sari. So we went to Sari to see my uncle. In Nourooz vacation we were invited to marriage for 3 times and it was very happy for us. In Golestan province there are beautiful places such as forests, And my family with our kinfolk usually went to forests and enjoy it. In Iran 13 Farvardin day is named on Nature day, In this day people go to nature for recreation. We also went to one of the deluxe of Gorgan that called Mountain Rain, In that day the good memories remained in my mind. The rest of vacation I was often at home and watched my favorite programs such as Cinema 4 and documentary 4.On 13th of farvardin,the last of Norouz vacation ,my friends and I went mountain climbing on Tochal and had a few happy hours.Did you also have a good vacation?
Ali Javid's Vacation! On 2th of Esfand my family and I went to Shiraz to visit our family and I Went to Shiraz to visit our reletives there. Shiraz was very crowded in New year. There were so many visitors there. My children wanted to visit the Perspolise, so we went there. It was wonderful but crowded. My children had so mach fun in shiraz and I rested a lot. We returned to Tehran on Farvardin 12th.

My Last vacation was Norouz holidays. I stayed at home with my family but I and my family did some exercises such as fast walking, running, rope handling, badminton, ping-pong and volleyball with each other in the park which is a beautiful place in near our home every morning. And then we came back home and I studied some books such as Free Surface Flow hydraulics, Hydrologic Design and so on. During these days we came over my relatives and versa. Also we watched Norouz serials on TV every night.
I planed to visit some of my relatives in England last year. First I wrote a schedule (check list) for the journey as follow:
- Check the time that I’ll be in England with my relatives, if they are busy or not
- Apply for visa and its procedure.
- Booking ticket for turn and return.
- See over (Check) necessary things which I usually take with me when I travel.
- Change of money for my expenses.
- Buy some gifts.
- Write down what I’ll do during my staying there.
I flew March 20th with Iran air from IKA to Heathrow airport in London. The flight time took over five hours. I and the other passengers had to do necessary procedure to be able to enter in the UK. After some consultation with people in the airport information desk I took a train to Paddington station. Then I took a cab to Oxford street there one of my relative was waiting to meet me. The taxi driver who was a middle aged man asked me” where am I from?”. “What am I doing in my country?” How many days or weeks do I want to stay in England?” I tried to answer him and changed some words with him. After a while the taxi driver stopped the car, I paid five ponds to him, wished him a good day and walked toward the department store that’s name is self fridges. Very soon I could find my relative who was waiting beside the main entrance. Our visit after one year was very splendid. We went to a coffee shop to take break and talk about every thing. After drinking a cup of coffee with a piece of very delicious almond cake we went to cosmetic department because I was going to buy a couple of mascara and day cream. The shopping time took more than two hours. It was 2:30 PM. We decided to have lunch in an Italy restaurant. Because of the restaurant location that was located in a business area it was an only lunch restaurant. The decoration was modern and new; menu was very varied and divided on three sections. The first section contained first course (starter), the second part described main courses and the last part gave a detail of desserts. I chose a special salad as starter and lamb steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. After main course I drank my coffee.
If I’ll describe the service that we got, I can say the service people weren’t so efficient. The food wasn’t as good as I expected .When we asked about the bill, we understood that they didn’t accept credit card. We put our cash money altogether and paid the bill. We would take the train to Ashford city which I would stay a couple of days. The journey took one and half hours. The train station’s clock showed 6:50 When we arrived at our destination. My relative house wasn’t far from station so we walked there. Under way to the house I could se a lot. The streets were cleaner than our streets, the walls colors were brighter than our walls, and the traffic was as crowded as ours. People looked happier than our people; their costumes were prettier and newer than ours.
She opened the door’s luck and we went in. The house had a big living room which was furnished with modern white L formed furniture which a part of them seemed as a king size bed, a wide screen TV set, a lot of crystals and porcelains as decoration. We had a good time to talk about the old memories and our relatives. I got to bed by 11:30 PM.
March 21st, I woke up early in the morning, took a shower, wore my clothes and went down stair to have breakfast. My relative had to go to work so we said good by to each other and agreed to meet late in afternoon. I would go to the city center, to have a look around and buy some books. I walked alongside a river . City center complex contains a lot of shops e.g. coffee shop, shoes, clothes, toys, home appliance, books, restaurants etc. I bought several pocket books; of course to buy books in foreign language took me more than three hours. I read the summary which is printed in the last page of the books to see if I like the subjects or not. I was very tired, I paid the books and went to take a break and have a cup of coffee. During the break in a very nice decorated coffee shop I got possibility to talk with an old lady who started complain about the climate. I replied her it’s some advantage with this kind of cloudy rainy climate for example; you haven’t air pollution however you have a lot of industries and cars. You haven’t any major problems for drink water which will be one of most significant problem in the world. Then she changed the conversation subject to England’s election and wanted to know, what my opinion about the three major parties was. Which of them have possibility to govern next government, alone or maybe together as a coalition? Frankly I hadn’t enough information about the parties and tried to escape the answer. She told me that she is coming in the coffee shop the same time every day and I can meet her if I want. I left the coffee shop and went to a Museum which I planed to visit……..
There must be better ways to learn and enjoy English and even be able to score high in TOEFL / IELTS.
I have been teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) since 1990 as a side job; However, it soon became my career of love and joy.
Information age and the overwhelming exposure of learners to English media and resources leave no room for conventional static methods. Moreover, teachers should help intermediate and advanced students drive through the information highway.
I must add that I received my BS in ME and MS in IE in the US and my major related jobs have been rather technical in nature and mostly concerned with Information Technology/Systems.

How Was the Nowrooz Vacation?
